The Cerritos College Board of Trustees has appointed Bill Farmer as acting President/Superintendent.
The decision became effective on July 31 and was a move by board members that will ultimately finalize into the installment of an interim president.
The former President/ Superintendent Dr. Noelia Vela left to take the position of Chancellor at San Bernardino Community College District.
Last semester Vela was given a vote on "no confidence" by the Cerritos College faculty senate.

With the 29th Olympic Games sadly completed, its time to take a look at those who competed.
They swam and they ran, some faster than others. But through competition, they became closer than brothers.
Phelps' golds, basketball's redemption, 10-year-old gymnasts, Alicia Sacramone's falls.

This summer's box office was a success. Perhaps the poor economy combined with over inflated gas prices had everyone searching for a retreat not too far from home, or maybe this summer's movies were just that good. Whatever the reason, summer box office revenues have exceeded last year's, making history with record highs, according to Variety.

While some USC students spent their first Saturday night of the semester donning their best American Apparel attire at Danceism and the rave at the Shrine Auditorium, McCarthy Quad was abuzz with sugarcoated indie pop and carbon copy hipsters that would make MTV proud.

I used to live in a box. When I was younger, I wintered in a pink laundry basket and remodeled with kitchen chairs and knitted blankets to make a one-bedroom fort. In the summer sometimes there'd be a box and I lived in the box, a modest loft really.
Location was good, right in front of the television, about a crawl to the bathroom, two to the kitchen.

The city of San Marcos is limiting how many students can live together in one house.
On August 7, the council put into effect a housing ordinance that says one single family house can have no more than four leases.
The ordinance, which has been in the works for some time, was originally dismissed but problems between residents and students required a solution city council members believe they have found.

Soul Calibur 4 is the latest entry in Namco Bandai's long running Soul series of fighting games. Ever since it first started with Soul Edge in 1996, the series has separated itself from similar fighting games by using a weapon-based combat system instead of the standard unequipped style used by other games such as the Mortal Kombat and Tekken series.

The car is approximately 300 yards away. In training, we learned to judge distance using units based on whatever frame of reference we know best. Football fields, mine is football fields.
Three football fields away.
The car isn't slowing down; they must not see our roadblock.
